August’s Happiness Focus: Family/Friends

Aug 5, 2010 by

I’ll be posting a bit about my experiences during July (on the subject of Marriage) in an upcoming post. For now, let’s consider August. My August focus is Family/Friends and boy am I ever tackling this one in a big way.

While I have many close friends online, this hasn’t translated so much into offline friends. I’m not sure if I’m socially awkward, too guarded, or just not putting myself out there enough. But this month, I’ll be meeting two good online friends when they come to North Carolina (separately) to attend weddings.

We’ll also be traveling “home” mid-month for my husband’s high school reunion. I had a blast at the get-together 5 years ago so I hope this event is also a good time. And since we’ll be home, there will also be time to visit family. Especially my favorite nephew and niece.

On a third front, there’s a lot of thinking about what family means to me in terms of children. I certainly don’t expect to make any decisions but I’d like to make some progress in at least considering what that might mean. I’m not getting any younger.

Another month, another tough topic to be thoughtful about. Any of you embarking on any kind of Happiness Project or considering similar topics?
