CiT Guest POW!: Opportunities
“Out of clutter, find simplicity. From discord, find harmony. In the middle of difficulty, lies opportunity.” – Albert Einstein
Today’s POW! comes from long-time Girlyfight supporter (and designer of our fabulous logo gloves) Kayleigh Lebak. Of the quote she chose, Kayleigh says:
So much of being creative is just finding that time, that space, that headspace. It’s important to remember that there’s always room for us to create, even in the most trying of times. Heck, especially in the most trying of times. When nothing else is shaking, why shouldn’t we turn to ourselves and our own talents to make our way in the world and to make good things happen?
We couldn’t agree more!
Kayleigh created both a dark and light version of her POW! in various sizes so you can use them as amazing desktop wallpapers. Click below to download bundles of different sizes.
Kayleigh Lebak is an illustrator and digital designer based out of anywhere with a wifi connection. She takes an odd pride in never staying in one place long enough to renew her driver’s license and cheers for every new stamp in her passport. She loves bright colors, stupid bi-lingual puns, pin-ups, and cute animals. She takes her inspiration from vintage illustration, video games, comic books, and manga.
This past year Kayleigh published her second artbook, Divine Dames. It’s a collection of 26 world goddesses presented in colorful, pin-up style with accompanying short entries on each goddess. A mythology nerd since childhood, and a lover of pin-up art since she figured out how to draw something beyond Ninja Turtles, such an outing was long overdue. Divine Dames stands in contrast to her previous artbook outing, Girls of the World, a kid-friendly alphabet book that introduces 26 world nations and their traditional dress using a sweet, cut-paper style of illustration.
Kayleigh blogs about art and occassional bouts of unrepententant geekery on her site. She also keeps an adventurelog at Wandering Kotka. You can follow her on Twitter and Facebook as well.

I’m taking the opportunity of having the day off today to make birthday cards for hospice patients.

Sounds like a great way to spend a day off!
I’m so glad you invited me to be part of this project–not only am I enjoying have this as my desktop now but I can’t wait to see what other posts are lined up as part of this series.
Thanks so much for contributing, Kayleigh! I’ve added this to my rotating desktop wallpapers and it’s nice for it to pop up at random times as a reminder.
